I have a Reverand living next door, who happens to teach my daughter at school. His house is the mirror image of ours. Up until a few weeks ago our lofts were completely open & shared, but I've just had mine boarded & put a partition wall up.

The dream:
We, me & the kids, had permission to explore his house while he was out as long as we didn't enter room 207. I don't know what was in there- all the rooms were numbered a bit like a hotel. His house was interesting- much bigger than ours with lots of rooms & staircases, but all muted & dark, like a classic creepy haunted house. Out of one room a flock of birds flew, including zebra finches.

I'm always curious when we remember numbers in a dream. Does 207 have any significance for you? I wondered if it was an edited version of 2007 and that the deal was to explore whatever facet of him/his home you wished, but don't look to the future. Birds in a house are usually not a good omen are they? Are your instincts about this man entirely positive? I don't know if the "dark side" of the dream might refer to him, to your interior life (especially as his home is a mirror of yours), or to something else.
Just a word about the zebra finches... a couple I was friends with a few years ago were real fans of birds, reptiles, tiny mammals etc. and created a free flight room in their RENTED home for their many zebra finches. It was a lovely idea until it came time for them to move and the bird sh*t was everywhere... <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Thanks Trish, food for thought here. Yes perhaps 207 is 2007. The neighbour seems ok- very quiet & not unpleasant, though I don't really know him & have never been in his house. I'll see if anything else comes up...

In reading trishs thoughts and the mention of mirrors...it immediately brought to mind that movie 'the jabberwocky' and much like in our dreams things are not always as they seem...

Why in your mind did the zeb finches stick out so much?do you have an association with them in some other part of your life? and I don't much know of your expertise or use of numerology but what does the number 9 mean to you? (2+0+7)

haha an after thought...

in native american spirituality birds are seen as messenger to creator...your neightbor is also a messenger - or vessel - to God. perhaps the fact that a spiritual leader is telling you to not go into a room that has a numeric value of 9means that even though you seek it out you perhaps are NOT ready yet for a certain level of philosoph/theolo/whatever=ical study/learning what have you. Is there something that you really truly badly want to learn about but there just seems to be little blockades up against you figuring out as you go along OR has it seems just too darn easy getting there?
