Interesting article in the Daily Mail about two models. Read - The stunning size 12 model branded 'too fat' for TV competition.

Remember Lucille Ball of I Love Lucy? There was one episode where she was dieting to get into a size 12 costume! How times change.

Keep in mind that it's British sizes as well, which means a size 10 in the US.

That other model is just gross looking. Her hipbones and ribs are sticking out! The "fat" model looks amazing and healthy.

It's really funny - but you'll find clothing stores are now considering size 14 and upwards is "plus size".

The size 12 model looks like a real person. But then, there;s also been lately a trend against the stick thin models - let's hope it continues.

Size 12 is certainly not plus size.....though some stores would like people to believe so. Addition Elle, a large plus size chain in Canada is now carrying clothing in a size 12! It seems the sizes they carry seem to be getting smaller. It makes me sad to see women who I consider skinny being told they're too big to shop at regular stores.

I was watching a shooting of the Tyra Banks show about too skinny models the other day!

I am finally getting down to a (kind of) 14 - as long as its stretchy, LOL! blush And was looking forward to maybe being able to moving into the "normal" area of women's clothing. But it looks like they are just moving the sizes up - so I'll still be a plus size!

Maybe I'll go try out for a plus size modeling contract, hmmm - ROTFL!!!!! crazy

Well, my experience is that a women's (plus size) size 12 is cut differently from a misses size 12 - they have more room for hips and bust. The Fredrick's of Hollywood CLOTHING (which has become a much smaller line over time than it once was), is cut along the same lines. I'm curvy regardless of how much I weight (I've been every size between 4 and 18), so I prefer that cut. There really IS a reason why they call them "women's sizes". (Although it should not apply to the shapeless styles that are so often sold in larger sizes!)
