I started writing in my diary when I was about 12, and kept it up until now, age 36! The only blip was after I got married last year -- I used to write every night, and knew it'd be awkward with a husband lying in bed next to me. So I only wrote sporadically, when I found pockets of time, about once a week.

And THEN....I read Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way (I believe this is the right book); she encourages people to write their "Morning Pages" every day. First thing in the morning, you should write all your thoughts and opinions, uncensored.

So, after I get my hubby off to work (not quite first thing, but it's 6 am so that's close enough), I write a page a day. Now it's a habit, and I'm learning to be comfortable writing even when he's home, in the same room.

Does anyone else have successful journaling habits?
