With pattern: Cast on 26 stitches 1) K26 2)K4,P18,K4 3)K26 4)K4,P18,K4 5)K4,YO3,K2T 6 times, YO3, K4 6)K4,P18,K4 7)K26 8)K4,P18,K4, Repeat rows 5-8, 15 times, How do I end to get the scalloped edge effect I have at the beginning?
Hi,is this a scarf by chance? There is a possiblity that you might cast on and follow pattern for half the length of the scarf, put it on a holder, cast on and knit other half of scarf and then graft them together in the middle. That would make both ends perfectly symmetrical. I would end each half probably on row 7 so that they would be easier to graft and of course that middle section would be slightly off pattern. good luck, Kathy
I use single strips as a scarf, and sew multiple strips together for an afghan, where the straight edge is not that much of an issue. I have attempted to reverse the pattern, but that was unsuccessful, and have thought of reducing the number of rows in half and sewing two finished ends together as you advised. This is the only pattern I have used for 35 years.
