No wonder why my friend was yelling at me about not saying the word spanish when talking about hispanics LoL... Anyone here Mexican??? Just curious, I moved to Houston and totally fell inlove with the mexican culture and the food. And I can officially say I am slowly but surely picking up the language.

sorry I just love this smiley... Has no significance to this post. It's just funny

I get confused with the term "hispanic" and so does my husband. I am half Puerto Rican, he is half Mexican. They are different. Then again, most people refer to us as white LOL.

language can be confusing... English, for starters, have a lot of complexities. Like the plural of "goose" is "geese" but the plural of "moose" isn't "meese", and all those...

You sound like Gallagher. He does a great comedy bit on the English language.

There is a great book called the Hispanic Condition you might like reading. I am half Guatemalan and I get mistaken for Italian all the time though I can't figure out why. From what I understand Hispanic is anyone of Spanish decent living within the United States or Canada. I don't think there is much understanding about the differences between our nationalities. At least for the most part that is. Most of the inquiries I get are pretty good natured though and everyone seems to be very interested in learning about the differences.
