wow...that's great that you've found something that works for you!!

I wish more people would look towards nutrition rather than drugs when experiencing illness. Have you heard of Christina Pirello who was diagnosed with leukemia in her 20's and told there was no chance for survival? She hosts Christina Cooks on PBS.

Anyway, she changed her diet to mostly raw and vegan (if I remember correctly) and went into remission. Her doctors were baffled!

I have been fiddling with what I eat/react to adversely since 1976. I haven't read the eat right for your type books, but feel I could probably write one. I don't have a problem with the nightshades, but having been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 1976, I should have. I never did really fit in

I have found that the close to macrobiotic I can stay, the better I feel. I have had no symptoms of RA ever, aside from the occasional ache, so I know diet can fix most anything.

Jan, I have met people with rheumatoid arthritis in wheelchairs. When they ask my 'secret' and I tell them they might start gaining mobility and having less pain by stopping meat eating, they tell me they could never ever stop eating their steaks and pork chops. I have just stopped answering when they ask. I just say, "I guess I'm just lucky."

I know. It's frustrating. For me it's not arthritis but just health in general. We're the "oddballs" in our family for eating healthy. Meanwhile, everybody in the family seems to be dealing with diabetes, heart problems, weight issues, etc...:( But we're the weird ones for eating right...A member of my family scoffed when I suggested she changed her diet and chose to go on a high risk cholesterol drug instead!

OMG, aren't you absolutely right. People want to take a pill with dangerous side effects, a pill that could kill them rather than give up freakin' pork chops.
