Some hair is strong enough to be very long and some is not. Weaker hair will grow to a certain length and then become a mass of split ends. Strong or weak hair can be inherited.

Lynne, isn't split ends caused by rubbing of the hair against clothes? It could be easily avoided then by putting up the hair, braiding it or perming it, although that last option does damage the hair significantly on it's own...

Hair grows through a cycle. Many women lose the hair after it has grown to a certain length. Is this not true?

Hair grows through a cycle. Many women lose the hair after it has grown to a certain length. That's true. The longer the growing cycle, the longer the hair will grow. Sometimes vitamins will help lengthen the cycle. Nioxin Recharging Complex multi-vitamin state that they may help to keep hair in the growing cycle longer.

I've lost a lot of weight and have been under a ton of stress the last year or so. I've noticed that my hair has thinned dramtically. I've been eating better and taking vitamins. What I need to know is that I see re-growth..my roots are showing. So, I know my hair is growing. But every time I run my fingers through it I lose hair..or when I shake it over the sink a I see them falling. Will this stop once I get my diet/stress levels under control? I used to have fine, think hair..but now it's dull, lifeless and thin. I just want this to stop. I am taking the Nioxin Re-charging Vitamins. Has anyone used them and seen a difference?

The more you focus on seeing your hair fall out, the more stress it will give you.

I have seen several people experience dramatic results using the Nioxin vitamins and the Nioxin 3 step system.
