Hiya, I'm new around here and I really need some advice. A couple of months ago I died my dark brown hair with that Schwarzkopf XXL in the shade Cosmic Blue (its almost as dark as black but with a blue tint). I was reli happy with it cos it looked amazing and I got loads of compliments but then I started seeing blue on my pillow when I woke up and every time I washed my hair I would literally watch the colour go down the drain even though it was permanent. I started seeing more and more brown appear back in my hair again and so yesterday I re-coloured it the same colour and it's looking the way it did the first time round again and I'm really happy with it but I don't want to go through the same thing this time...is there any reason the dye could have been coming out? My friend who recently dyed her hair from blonde to black uses the same shampoo as me - Tresemm and was having the same problem and her hairdresser said that Tresemm forms some sort of plastic coating around the hair and the dye doesn't stick to it...does anyone know if this is true or not? Should I get a special shampoo for coloured hair or something? Even the coloured hair shampoos I see say they are for brunette's, blonde's or red's and don't say anything about darker colours - would they still be alright to use on my hair? It's almost black, just with a blue tinge to it....Sorry to have completely bored you all! Thanks in advance if you can help <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ~Kate x
First perm, then color. Why? Perm solution affects color dye, so you would get a different color if you would color it first and after a week or so go for a perm.
