I am working on some fingerless mittens with fur around the cuff. I think that since I want partial fingers, I will just crochet those. They don't take long to do but I didn't like how my first one came out so I frogged it, and have started over. I am using a 17 peg large gauged loom from an online vendors. I like the nylon pegs and MDF fiberboard base it has. It is easy to use.
If you have the double rake (board looms), keep an eye out at
http://www.knittingboard.com They have been putting up free patterns for board knitting. The lastest is an afghan with a graph design in it.
Most recently they have had a nice sweater coat, a poncho, and a scarf up. They plan to keep rotating the patterns on the site. After about a week or so those same patterns go up for sale, and a new free one becomes available.
I now have two sweater coat patterns from them and recently purchased the yarn to do at least one, maybe both of them. I just need to finish some other projects first.
I haven't tried that boa scarf, though I did get the pattern for it. I mostly make up my own patterns and the things I have done are mostly hats, scarves (regular and hooded), and baby ghans. Oh I have done a couple of mittens, full ones and a baby bunting. That bunting was fun. It was double raked for the body, the flaps were needle knitted, and the edging crocheted.
