this is what i think i know about the bible. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth". Find that hard to believe? Well, if you keep reading, you'll see a chapter that has "What God does, man cannot comprehend! So, you're not disbelieving, its just that it is hard for man to comprehend. Though there are some people who would rather disbelieve.
I believe in idols being destroyed during the time of King David. So which means that if or hopefully someone in our time could do that same way, well, we'd all know where we
stand. I mean come on. Look at Greece, Egypt, pharaohs, statues of idols. There is a chapter in the bible that has "All cities which took it upon themselves to build false idols were destroyed and condemned. That's why no-one lives in the pyramids or the other places. They remain desolate, to this day.
And I believe in the Great flood. If a whole country, let's say a big continent like Asia, can be covered in clouds during Winter, rain all Winter, for however long that is, well then its not hard for clouds to cover every single country all at the same time and rain till it covers the whole earth. That's why I believe in rainbows too. That's God's way of letting us know that all the times it has rained, he has kept his promise. I think that God is close when I see rainbows.
Now there is so much more that i want to put here and I will...later!

There is no evidence that the flood was anymore than a local incident, if indeed it happened at all. The idea that flood waters covered the whole earth is a crazy notion imo. It is just as crazy to suppose that Noah could possibly have taken all the species on earth into the ark! The Bible has to be read with a modicom of commonsense as to what is credible and what isn't. Much of the OT is incredible and quite a lot of the NT too!

I've never found the "worldwide flood" to be logical becasue almost everyone inside the Ark would have had to have been a different race or color or how would you explain all the different races of today. If it were true we would all be of one race.

Many differnt cultures from the world over have a story of a devastating flood having happened.

okay, so adam and eve were white? though they weren't on the Ark, I still believe i've come from one of Noah's sons, Ham, Shem or Japheth. I mean so what if I'm a Maori. Deep down in my soul, being a Maori just doesn't seem right(a native new zealander) Anyway it doesn't have anything in the bible about different races being on the Ark, just the people, and then from there they spread throughout the earth.

of course there was a Noah's Ark. and of course it had 2 species of each kind of clean and unclean animal on it. Now look at how big the Titanic was. Even though it sunk. Or what about the queen mary, plus the princess Sapphire ship. Those are massive as ships. But get to an Ark (oh no that didn't happen) whoever doubts it is so dull and dim witted and boring boring boring

Even if the ark was as big as the biggest ship on earth, how in god's name did old Noah round up two of every species on earth and put them in the ark?

As for the flood, I have heard that there is not enough water in the whole of the oceans to provide enough rain to cover the whole earth. Rain has to come from somewhere it doesn't fall from outer space!

I think to believe in some of the stories in the Bible one has to be away with the fairies!

There is a theory put out by scientist that are Chritians (not to be confused with the religion of Christian Scientists - ) that the world at one time was encapsulated (can't think of a better word) by a canopy of water. When it rained for 40 days and nights, that canopy collapsed and flooded the world.

This is also supposedly where the continents changed from the form of Pangeia - I think that's the right word - to the configuration we have today.

I'll have to look up where I first saw this info - I just remember reading it and thinking what interesting explanations for how these things happened.

As for diferent races - wasn't that supposed to have occured at the tower of Babel, along with different languages? Up until then I had always figured people were of the Jewish descent.

well, how many animals do you think could have fit on the titanic. it was only 2 of every species, not the whole animal kingdom. when there's a will (especially God's will) there's a way!

So old Noah went around the world collecting animals not native to the Middle East? Anyway what sort of horrible monster would want to drown the whole world? It doesn't make any sense at all to me!
