Hey Everyone,
I have type two diabetes. I was diagnosed in 06'. When I was diagnosed I was first put on Metformin 500mg 2 times daily. Then I started to get diarhea from it and they put me on Glyburide 5mg. I then went on a low-fat/low-calorie diet and my blood sugars were going down in the 50's so they decreased the Glyburide to 2.5mg and it works wonders for me. I dont hardley check my blood sugar and watch what i eat.

Wow Kara..that is great. I am a type two also, diagnosed in 1996. I recently switched from oral meds to insulin. I wish that I didnt have to check my levels so much.

verynicebecky, What do your levels run usually? Mine run in the low 100's. Why did you switch to insulin? Have a great day.

Hi Kara,
I switched mainly because in the past year and a half that I have been seeing my doctor he would never get my prescription right. I had been taking glyburide and metformin. He would prescribe the correct amount of metformin but never (inspite of me telling him)the correct doseage of glyburide. To make a long story short, I ran out of glyburide and increased my dosage of metformin and it still wasnt cutting it. I ran short about 3 weeks before my next appointment. I was waking with levels in the low 300's. My doctor had once said that he felt type 2's wait too long to go onto insulin. I had begun reading a diabetic forum and someone there had made the switch from oral to insulin and was doing well. When I saw my doctor I told him that I was ready to switch over. For me, switching over to insulin has made me to have to monitor myself more frequently. I am going on a month of injecting and I cant say that my numbers are perfect, but they are much better than they were. If I check and my bg is high I can take more insulin. You really shouldnt pop another pill if u are on oral's and your bs is high. I just feel as though I have the tool to be in better control now.

Those are signs of side effects. I would be worried about the dark urine. Goggle glyburide and read up on it. I would be calling my dr. if I were you.

Hello everyone!
Diabetes.....I'd like to share with all of you how one can cure, yes cure your diabetes, even if you are on insulin.
It's about diet, what you put in your body. If you do not wish to change your diet, then continue on with the meds.
I'd like you to check out the following website, which can explain so much more than I could here.

www.rawfor30days.com

In addition, there is a 9 minute mini-documentary that you can view on the same subject. It's an eye-opener!

You are correct. I have proven this fact. I am so happy that someone besides me has spoken out about this topic. Too many diseases we have allowed upon ourselves or we have been convinced by others that we are so ill. I alone am in charge of my body.
