I'm an over the road truck driver and can't sit down at regular scheduled times to be tutored. Are there any good programs where I can learn and be tutored when it's convenient to my work/sleep time and at my leasure?

I do really want to learn. I've bought a couple of different CD's to listen to, while going down the road. One comes with a wonderful workbook, but the CD's alone don't do much good while driving, since I can't look at the workbook (which has a section which tells what the speakers are saying-which makes it easier to learn the words) and the other one is a lot more simplier (which I like), but I get to a certain point and I can't keep up with it. I have to listen to the same section over and over and over and I still can't get past it.

So, is there something online/a program that I can order and download with workbook, etc? I don't care how simple the levels are as long as I can progress at my own rate. Personally, I think that something that gives me work to do with it is more beneficial than to say that ***** means +++++. Know what I mean? <img src="/images/graemlins/fish.gif" alt="" /> [color:"purple"] [/color]

Ok, maybe I asked for too much. How about a good software program that I can download that has an online workbook of some sort. I think something visual would be helpful.

I signed up for that Rosetta Stone 6 month online course. It's absolutely wonderful. I've only been able to use it twice in the past two weeks, but it's amazing how fast you learn with their method...even though absolutely NOTHING is in English.

Thanks so very much for pointing me in that direction.

I didn't realize they had an online course. Keep us updated as to your progress so I can possibly recommend it to some friends of mine.

Buenas Aires!!
Como esta? Mi no habla espaol?

I also want to learn how to speak Spanish. My great grandmother was spanish but she was born in the Philippines. I remember ny grandfather and father used to speak Spanish but I only learned a few words, like colors, greetings and numbers.

I want to have a fluent conversation in Spanish but I guess I need to study a lot.

Yes, you need to dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to learning the language to reach your goals. Fluency will still take a few years but you can be conversational in a short amount of time (at least functional).
