In going though some dark knit tops that I wear for work, I found a number of them that seem to have oil or grease stains on them.

Is there a natural or readily available item that will finally remove these food-based stains from cotton/polyester knit fabric?
(I have tried all the available products at the grocery store - even Dawn Dishwashing liquid and the grease marks are still there!)

My mum always suggested ironing the grease/oil stain but placing a brown (although not sure color is relevant) paper bag between teh hot iron adn the garment. The bag sucks up the oil. I can't remember if it actually worked or not though. Sorry

I have had great results with baby powder. Sprinkle some on the stain and gently rub it in and let it set overnight. Shake off excess and launder as usual.

I use Spray & Wash. In the green spray bottle. It says Advanced Grease & Grass Remover. It won't get out everything, but works better than most stuff. Spray & let it soak in for about 20 minutes before you wash it.

And, I think Tide detergent does the best job on grease, too. (We used to use it to wash the floors in restaurants because it really cut grease.)
