hi everyone. hope you have all enjoyed your summer as i have, just hate to see it go as i am a "sun" person!!!! what are you all making now? anything special? am making lots of things. have a very bad habit of working on several things at once!!!!! am making a shawl , backpacks, sweaters, and am now starting to think what to make for my christmas ornaments.(i make homemade ornaments and give them as gifts to all of my family, as we are a huge family and can't afford gifts for everyone) so make a small thing like an ornament and my family always love them. hope to hear for you soon to let me know what you are doing. any suggestions for ornaments? have a great day. merwyn :rolling:

So many projects, lets see...

1. Afghan stitch sweater for my son (personalized with his name), have to finish the sleeves and cuffs.

2. Toddler jumper for daughter (the pattern is from a seventies book, so I have to make the skirt longer)

3. Newlywed shawl

4. 2-strand ripple afghan (3/4 done, got too hot to work on!)

We won't discuss the works in mind. I'm thinking of making my son a bookbag from plastic bags, though. Hmm...

I got it right here in the archives section, I think, of Bella crochet. Eva breaks everything down pretty simply and even has pics and diagrams. It's very pretty.

I just finished my big project Thursday, so I'm looking for a new one with all my little balls of yarn in the basket, seems silly to collect them and not use them. However, I'm not in the mood to make one of those classic granny square afghans.

As to what I just finished, I made up a large seraphina shawl using 7 skeins of Red Hearts Watercolor #0318 yarn. It's variegated with shades of sky blue, sage green, butter yellow and lavender. I was wearing it this weekend with the 24 hours of nonstop rain and a friend of mine told me they were dragonfly colors...I was tickled.

I also just finished a scarf made of Sunflower squares with long kelly green fringe, I can't wait to wear it =]

Oh Wendy, have you every tried Free Form crochet ? There are now several books out about it, a pattern book set for release in September 2004, and I promise it will put to good use all your little balls of yarn.
