Hi! We are getting ready to move to a new state. Anyways, I have a 4-year old who is in speech therapy through our local school district, and it took him forever to get started in their program. Since we're moving, I'm afraid he is going to lose a lot of ground. Any tips on speeding up the process, questions to ask, who to talk to, etc?
Also, is every state required to offer special services to pre-schoolers, or is it up to the district? I feel so overwhelmed I don't really know where to start!

Thanks in advance for any & all advice!
Kristy

I'd go into your new school district office and tell them your child's history. They will direct you appropriately.

Since this is the beginning of the school year you can probably get an evaluation done now or they will request the child's records from the previous school district.
