I've had a question about hydrangeas that have had no flowers or very few this year.
So here's what to do
From now until early autumn keep them well watered - as this is when they will be starting to grow next year's flower buds.

Or give each plant a good watering then pop a mulch around it, which helps to keep the moisture in the soil.

Feed them with sulphate of potash, using approx one handful to the sq. yd. or sq. m.
Sprinkle it around your plants as a top dressing (before you mulch).

This is a plant food with a high potassium content which is especially used to encourage flower formation.
It helps to stop too much leavy growth and therefore will encourage your plants to flower next year.

EXACTLY what I wanted to know...this thing bloomed the first year BUT now we have a sprinkler system; which is good as it has been 100+ for about three weeks running with NO rain at all...it has lovely lush foliage but nary a bloom to be had..
thanks!
