I just read an article about the war in the middle east as being a biblical prophesy for the end of times. This individual believes that we will see the return of Jesus in our life time.

I thought it would be fun to do a kinda Bible Study on prophesy. For both the first coming and the second coming of Jesus Christ.

I would like to challenge you to find a Biblical Prophesy and post it here to see how many we can find.

I'll give you some hints to start --

Check out Psalms, especially 22.
Check out the book of Daniel.
Of course Check out Isiah

What prophesies could you find? Was it to prophasize the first coming or the second coming? Has it come true? When? Are we still waiting for its fullfillment?

There are many threads within this forum as there are many parts of end of world prophesy. please reply to the post you are replying to so we know which thread your post is part of.

Just so you know this is the prophecy we are hearing about concerning the Israeli/Lebanonise conflict:



Israel became a nation in 1945.

Quote 1 -- Interesting how years before Jesus was born a prophet was able to prophesize that Isreal would be destroyed and sent every which direction in defeat and humiliation. Then they would come back as one nation again.

What has been amazing in Isreal's modern history, since 1945 is that they were successful in every battle even though they were greatly outnumbered. When you study the history you can see God in their continual successes in battle since 1945.

Anyone else see anything in the Bible that would confirm that these are indeed the end of times.

Or propheses that prove that Jesus was the Messiah.

It is from the site Rapture Ready. The site is a study of the end of times and looks at a number of different authors and the news of today compared to the Biblical Prophesies.

Studying that website will take time as there is a lot of info, but anything stand out for you?

i have never followed war and polotics in or out of the Bible but somewhere in the Bible there is a verus that says you will not beable to tell the diferncees between the seasons, there will be fires, floods and dourghts... I think it talks about a ring of fire (valcanos,earthquakes...) any way I come from a line of farmes and ranches that watch the sky and weather so thats what has ALWAYS stood out to me!!!

At present I am reading 1 John and came accross a passage regarding the Anti-Christs. 1 John is written by the aposle John, the beloved disciple. John also wrote Revelations so he can be concidered the expert on the end of world prophesy.



We are so busy looking for THE Anti Christ, the last one, that we allow other antichrists to effect our world.

Anti Christ is the one that teaches that Christ is not the Son of God and leads weak and non believers away from Jesus and God.

Who do you know that is an antichrist? Do you allow them to spread lies without denouncing them with the truth. Are you scared to debate them because you don't know all the truths?

These anti christs do more damage to humanity than the monsters in our world that we look to as being The Anti-Christ, Hitler, Saddam Hussain etc. These men are NOT the Anti-Christ because they did not lead the world astray, away from Jesus, that never was their intention. They are terrible hateful men, men we would think behave the way the Anti-Christ should, but don't be decieved. The Anti-Christ's aim will be to lead the world astray and he does so by using many anti-christs throughout history.

The inquisition, the Cathlic Church's worst hour, was lead and carried out by anti-christs. There are so many anti-christs in the Catholic Church's history and they have succeed in using the Church to turn others away from God. The 7th Day Adventists believe that all the Popes are the antichrists and that THE Anti-Christ will be a Pope. I personally think this is not completely true. I believe that there may have been antichrists within power in the church that lead others to make some bad decisions, but not all Popes are antichrists, deceived maybe, but not anti christs for they do preach that Jesus is the Son of God. However, many of the doctrine and actions within the Church do lead people away from Jesus and provide true antichrists ammunition. The Catholic Church needs to clean house, throw out bad unbiblical doctrine, so they can be a light unto the world again. Remember Mother Theresa was a Catholic nun and no one can say she lead people astray. Many priests, in fact most priests, help guide people to God.

The point I want to make is that antichrists can operate within the Church and corrupt parts of it. Know what parts are true and which are false by knowing the Bible, the word of God. Use the Truth to shine a light on these false doctrines, planted their by powerful antichrists.

Ok i can agree with most of that statement but dont you think its time for ALL churches (ALL denomenations) to clean house? I have a friend that was thrown out of an Epistpalyan church because her hair is short!!! yes they believe that women should have lond hair and never cut it but she has cancer and when she was little she had scarlet fever and she never had hair to begain with!!! she has been a member of the church sence she was a child and now at 70 something they kick her out?

I think its time that every Christian evaluate the Bible and its truth then look at their lives and where they worship.

Even if the world goes on for another 1000 years, it doesn't matter - you could die tomorrow.

God is going to ask what you did with his Son. What is your answer? Did you turn away and by your example turn others away? or did you live your life as an example for others to see God and turn to him?

When I say an example, I don't mean a condecending judgemental hypocryte who thinks others sins are worse than their own. I mean, were you like Jesus? When God lead you to others in need did you say no and then justify it with, they'd only spend my money on drugs or alchol. Or did you look into their eyes and see their pain?

Now that I've totally taken this away from topic, Let me ask you, who do you see as an antichrist in today's world and why?

You just described them!!! the CHIRSTIANS that are condesending and hipocrits!!! a Great Precher once told me the only thing that scars people away from God is Chirstians that jugde and lord it over others tring to look like a "Good Chirstian" by making it look to hard and complecated and no fun to be!!!

Today's sermon at my church was on this topic. Hypocrites and how Jesus told the church of Sardis in Revelation Chapter 3.

Jesus told them that although the world may see them as alive he saw them as dead because he knew the truth. Would he announce them as his to God in front of the angels on the day of judgement? No.

My husband has issues with churches and Christians. He was brought up to be suspious of all Christians and that they all were hypocrites and users. He said today's sermon talked directly to him and he was impressed because our pastor encouraged not only the congregation but also the leaders of the church to question their actions and attitudes. To create a report card of sorts to ensure that they were on the right path.

Anyway back to the Anti-Christ.

In Revelation Chapter 13 we are introduced to THE ANTI-CHRISTS. Once again the plural is intentional.

Satan is the dragon who waits on the shore of the sea.

Out of the sea comes the first beast, 7 heads, 10 horns crowns, Leopard, bear, and lion. One head is wounded but recovers. This beast has political power and rages war on God's Holy people.

Out of the earth comes the second beast, with horns of a lamb and the voice of the dragon. He had the power of miracles. He ordered the world to worship the first beast and made a statue of it so that it could command that those who did not worship would die. This beast gives the mark 666. In chapter 16:13 & chapter 19:20 he is identified as the false prophet.

These three form an unholy trinity.

So do not look for one anti christ, for there are many that do the work of the Anti Christs and they themsleves become anti christs. Clear as mud right!!

This is why you must search out the Truth and with it arm yourself against The Anti-Christs. Don't be deceived by them.

what do you think it means when the bible talks to the scholars and tells them the name of the beast is 666? I know that 6= imperfect or incomplete and 3=magnifying or emphases? but do you think there is more to it that we dont understand yet? like 666= joe doe (real name of person goverment or religon or something else)?

But who are the antichrists?...You say one has political powers? This coulp mean any politition could it not? They all seem like antichrists to me.

HA!!! finaly someone who understands where i come from!!! I Dont think God intended for us to be lead around by humans or have human interperater to tell us the will of God!!! i think God wants us to seek Him first and the Kingdom of God then the rest falls into place!!! not the blind leading the blind in a MIND field!!!

An anti christ is anyone who leads people away from the belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

The anti christ will be someone whom people worship as a god and turn away from the God in order to do so.

It may or may not be a politican.

Beast in prophesy is a country
666 is it's mark something that encompasses the thoughts and actions of everyone who turns their back on God and towards the power of the country, whether economic, political or religious.

A sign of the end of times is when the beast(country) will control the world economy, politics, and religion.

When I was a little girl I overheard my mom saying that she believed that it was a terrible time to raise kids. She meant that the world was so filled of crime and bad things. I thought she meant the world was coming to an end was had a hard time sleeping. When your young the rapture is a scary thing..... not sure why they taught it in Sunday School.

Your mum was right. This is one of many reasons why my husband and I have chosen to not have children.This world we live in today makes it very difficult to raise children to become well adjusted adults.

It is only going to get worse as society continues to break down and nuclear warfare starts. I am so glad I dont have to worry about any children - It would break my heart!

All we can do in these days and times is just enjoy the life we have and keep our faith strong.

well thats way we dont have kids either!!! the goverment band God from school so kids are unprotected in schools!!! and the goverment hands out help to unwed teens with kids and the more they have the more money they get so haveing kids is a business of $$ and cents not love and reponcablity plus they goverment takes kids out of home where the parents control and teach there kids and drs give pills to the rest because they are uncontroled and they call it add or adhd when a good swat and some rule inforcement would do a world of good!!! when did it become the norm to do this? use to if you were under a certin age the drs would not even give you asprin now kids are on anti depressence, anti psychotics, diebetic pills, choleterol pills... and this is supost to help who the drs and goverments get rich and the next generation ez to control?!!!

I just want to put this out there to see what you have to say. This is only a theory.

In Biblical Prophesy the Beast represents a country. According to Biblical prophesy a beast will rise up with a number of heads, one hurt, with a number of crowns. It is this beast that will unite the world under one government, economy and religion.

As of today the world is changing into following one:

Government: Democracy
Economy: Capitalism
Religion: Well I'm stumped here.... maybe antarchy.

What country rules the world's Government & Economy at least?

wow ... what a thread to follow here! was encouraged reading all the posts & personal opinions & beliefs.

antichrists are all around, in church & out of church. it seems to follow that Christ is a attitude of faith in the heart that is so deep seated that 'nothing' moves you from your faith & belief. nowadays everyone is about everything, & very few are really saying anything. more commotion that it is worth.

what the holy spirit reveals to us should be 'life'. that life should create more life within us & more life to give to others! no scripture quotes, not theories, not sermons, not seminars (they are all fine, but most of these cannot give you life). that life force upholds you spiritually, soulfully, & naturally.

you know you have life if ... your spirit is alive in the mist of death, destruction, decay, lies, etc ... we are the children of light in the dark places promoted by the anti-christ spirit. and we are still intent on giving & moving in the light.

We are indeed living in the End Times. You are correct that there are signs all around us. That is because the time of judgement is coming with Christ's Kingdom. No one will be able to say they were not warned. That they did not have the opportunity to know the TRUTH. Yahweh is a fair and righteous Father. His Son, Christ Jesus, The Word, will be a fair and righteous King.

Here is another Anti Christ..... As his teachings are not in line with Those of Christ and encourages misguided Bible studies and false prophesy. He said the earth was coming to an end in 1994 -- well I don't know about you but it still looks like it's here to me......

Isaiah Chapter 9 verse 5

"In that day of peace, battle gear will no longer be issued. Never again will uniforms be bloodstained by war. All such equipment will be burned."

Won't that be a wonderful day!!

Isaiah Chapter 11 verse 6-9

"In that day the wolf and the lamb will live togeth; the leopard and the goat will be at peace. Calves and yearlings will be safe amoung the lions, and a little child will lead them all. The cattle will graze among the bears. Cubs and calves will lie down together, And lions will eat grass as the livestock do. Babies will crawl safely among poisonous snakes. Yes, a little child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes and pull it out unharmed. Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain. And as the waters fill the sea, so the earth will be filled with people who know the Lord."

This is what the followers of Christ have to look forward to after Jesus comes back.

I have an idea for you on religion (that's not going to be popular here on our forums), But the Unitarian Church (I think that's the name of it) preaches that all religions are correct, and you can believe in your own god as long as one loves another in peace. That sounds like it fits the bill to me.

As far as the US being the beast - I don't know. We are not regarded as the power we used to be. But of course I may just be stuck in the idea that the Beast is supposed to rise from the East, not the West.

The US is the only power now and if this is the end there are no other powers that come close to beating the US yet.
