Hi Everyone, I'm new here and needing a nudge toward my wheels.

It's 98, humid, and I'm wanting to get on with spinning some Bluefaced Leicester roving, but even the AC isn't motivating me. This roving is destined to be a skein I'm entering in the skein competition at the Sheep and Fiber Festival in September. I should be getting on with it.

Which fibers are you spinning in this heat? I'm just not "feeling" the Bluefaced right now.

I've been plying. It's cooled off to 88 here, and it's a dry heat. There's a pretty good breeze, also. Mainly, I'm trying to finish some very nice Merino. I have a huge bag of Mt. Goat fiber to pick, but I'm just not "feeling" that at all!

Ladies I feel your pain. Now that cooler weather is here, I finally finished up some Merino, and have started on some yummy Baby Alpaca. It's SO SOFT! Can't wait to see how it turns out. Chillawilla - I just might be at the Sheep and Fiber Fest, if it's the one in Wisconsin. I'll look for your Bluefaced in the skein competition, if I make it.

Welcome cooler weather!

When is the one in Wisconsin? The one I'm at this weekend is in New Jersey.

Must work on my "No I won't buy that" mantra. I have no willpower when it comes to fiber and there's sooo much lovely bags of fluff to be had at this one. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

OK so it went from cooler weather to COLD, here in Norhtern IL. It's actually SNOWING here today! The Wisconsin Sheep & Wool festival was Sept 8-10. I didn't get there, but I have heard that it great.

You know I've got it bad when we are out on the motorcycle and I see sheep, and immediately think " OH look! Fiber!" hahahaha

Sweaters on the hoof! The shepherds around here know me on sight. One of them has a Llama farm. He's my favorite, and he knows it. ;-)

No snow here yet but we've had our first frost warning. I love this time of year. Spinning without sweat. Building up the Stash just in case I get snowed in for a decade or two. (Forget groceries. Can't run out of fleece!)

Our local fiber fest was lovely. Some gorgeous fleeces! I got out with my resolution sort of intact. I vowed not to buy any mammal fiber. I bought two hand-painted silk roving balls and some bamboo instead. The silk is fabulous!

this year seems abnormally warm - talk about a warm December - my husband said it was the 6th warmest on record. No snow - how about not even a whisper of it here in South central PA. I have been hard pressed to want to knit some of my warmer fibers because my body says it's too warm for all that warm stuff, but my brain says it's December! Oh well, knit I must since I spin and have much to do. *sigh*
