What is your favorite charity?

One of mine is Compassion International

This week it is Homeless Week and I am going to try to find time this weekend to make bag lunches with my son and take him downtown so we can hand them out.

I want him to understand how lucky he has it and to experience how wonderful it is to give someone with nothing something as simple as a ham sandwich.

What a great idea. Too many kids grow up never knowing how blessed they are and that those who look different - such as homeless- are real people too.

What a lot of people forget about Charity is that it is not only about giving money.

If you can't afford to give there may be other creative ways of giving. Whether its your time or providing a service or product at a reduced cost.

There are lots of ways to give to a charity without giving money.

My children did voluntary work when they were teenagers, which was good for them, and good for the people they helped.

My favorite is to help women dealing with domestic violence. I have been there and know how helpless it can make you feel.
