Here are a few more things you probably shouldn't take with you when you move into the dorm: waffle makers, portable pizza cookers, sandwich grills, hot plates, propane cook stoves, barbecue grills of any kind (I still remember the guys on my floor--I lived in a co-ed dorm--barbecuing steaks on the fire-escape... I doubt grilled steaks were worth the fine they had to pay).
