There is no evidence that God dictated the Bible or inspired one word of it!

According to the Torah God talked directly to Moses through the burning bush and the pillar of fire & smoke.

Moses wrote the first 5 books:

Genesis
Exodus
Leviticus
Numbers
Deuteronomy

The Lord talked directly to Joshua, Moses assistant and leader of the Isrealites after him. He wrote Joshua which is the story of the Isrealites entering and conquering the promised land.

There are a number of books that do not claim to be written or inspired by God because they are historical records of the Isrealites and their relationship with God. As a nation they struggled with sin and were punished and then brought back to the promised land again and again and again.

Judges
1&2 Samuel
1&2 Kings
1&2 Chronicles

Some are stories about individuals who are to be an example to us because of the way they faced adversity and their relationship to God.

Ruth
Esther
Job

Some are written by prophets who God talked to. They are both history, warnings for the present, and prophesy for the future.

Isaiah
Jonah
Jeremiah
Daniel

Some books are written by kings to praise God or to pass wisdom on to their people.

Psalms
Proverbs

Each book has the same story the same theme, God loves us and we are a rebellious creation. He continually calls us back to him and we continually choose to follow our own agendas because it is easier.

Genesis was written in 1450-1410 BC
Malachi was written in 430 BC

Over the years you would have expected there to be deviations and changes to the style of writting and the message so it would be more pleasing to the people. However, it is the same throughout.

Read a book written 1000 years ago, does it sound the same as a book written on the same subject today?

The messages in the Bible are contrary to the times they were written. They are harsh unpopular words written to encourage a nation to take the harder route, that of God, instead of the route they were on. If it was written by men would they not of written books that would have been popular to the populus of the time. They all call for the people to stop being sinful and turn to God.

Love Apple you missed so much of who God is and was in the Old Testament.

He loved his people and wanted so badly for them to love him but they kept refusing and rebelling over and over. He would give them everything, whatever they needed or asked for and it was never enough. At some point all parents need to dicipline their children, just as God diciplined Isreal whenever they strayed too far so that in their suffering they would turn back to him.

It is not God who wanted Isreal to suffer, he wanted them to have everything but whenever they did they choose to spit in his face and turned away from him. They choose their path and the consequences would have been far worse if God had not stepped in and diciplined them. Isreal would have been wiped out and our only link to God would have been gone.
