One of my few encounters with a haunting involved a woman spirit who was especially disturbing two children in a home. I got her name was Marion or such and that she was really worried about the kids and wanted to take care of them. I told her that we respected and appreciated that, but that she was actually scaring the kids. I received a note from the family a month later saying they had asked some questions around the neighborhood and discovered that back several owners of their home before them there had been a woman by the name of Marianne. She had died of cancer leaving behind her two little girls. I have to believe it distressed her terribly to not be able to continue to look after them and had since found other surrogate children to care for in her home in years after. After our talk with her, the children were no longer being wakened by the lady and were no longer afraid. I don't think Marianne left, but maybe toned it down a bit. Sad but lovely story in a way, I think.
