I love Stephen Feneley's weekly column "Arts About" in the Sunday Age Preview Magazine. He has such a dry, cynical sense of humour.
In the June 11 edition Stephen writes about artist Ash Keating, who decided to put on a bit of performance art by gathering up scrap remnants of Barbara Kruger's exhibition. These had been dumped in the trash outside the gallery. Keating's statement was an environmental one regarding the disposal of non-biodegradeable products.
Apparently, however, the artistic director of the centre stormed out, confiscated the materials Keating had collected and dumped them back in the trash, "...while accusing Keating of misappropriating another artist's work."
