If you are aware of your healing gift how did you first realise that you had this ability?

I have always had "electrical" problems and am way to empathetic for my own good. Watches, I don't even try to wear them anymore. Never once considered myself capable of being a healer. I think I will try grounding with salt...

I do try to surround myself with my white light when near my boss and the CFO at work, they give me the creeps. I also try to light candles in the evening and let it go. But sometime things are moving so fast I just forget, I will be working harder on protecting myself around them. My mood can be altered just by them invading my space, and for
them my space gets a lot larger!

What do you do for protection?

I am a Rieki Master but around here they think that it is = to satanic practices so i dont tell hardly anyone. i made the mistake once in my church when i was a level one and they wanted to do an exorcism. it was a Nazarene church!!! they dont believe in exorcism!!! I was drawn to nurseing until i worked as an aide for a few years in nurseing homes and learned the hard way that nurseing is about plotics and backstabing and desided to make my massage thereapy into a business. but unforturenaly that = prostitution around here so most of my clients are men looking for what i dont give!!! anyways i think that maybe i feel yucky because i dont use my healing energy as often as i should. i had never thought of it before.

I am a Reiki level 1 but it dosent seem to call to me. I don't heal in any kind of traditional way, I can only do simple herbals etc.

But I think there are so many ways to heal, and my "healing" tends to be more on an emotional level. closer to counseling, listening, helping people work through things that way.

that the way mine runs. i seem to pick up on others emotions and sence problems on a level thats hard to explane. i have always drawn people with emotional and psychological issues (child hood trama ectea) i am also good at finding sore spots in musacles and soft tissue where my clients dont realize they are sore. i did not realize that this was a gift. when i was younger i thought it was a curse or something. LOL i was the giver and almost never the taker. i still strugle with the balance!

I had to laugh at your description of your "talent" for finding sore spots! My husband will testify that no matter where his current sore spot is, I will find it- usually with an oddly placed hug or out of character poke or jab in fun! I hadn't thought of that as being a clue to whether one is a healer or not, but in a very wierd way it makes a great deal of sense!
From the time my daughters were little, I started to notice that I was sensitive to the heat radiated from injured areas. I used to massage the energy over the affected spot and smooth it out... all without touching the skin. It has rather remarkable results.

If you're interested in more to read on this - A great book Healing Touch by Ann O'Malley (former NASA scientist) convinced me that this is a viable way to encourage recovery of the body as well as the spirit. She includes exercises to do on your own or with a partner to make one more aware of the energy we all possess and can channel. Very scientific in her approach but in a very accessible down to earth way, not at all flakey. when i was about 3 and 4 years old my dad had trouble with his blood sugar and had had a heart attack. he would get massive head aches that i would get too for no reazine so i would rub his neck and shoulder to get rid of my headache and his too some times. my mom thought i was nuts. after my dad died i started picking up on her aches and pains but at six years old there is not much to do about heart ache execpt be there.

I was 4 when i had my first spiritual experiences that i remember of. I was raised by a loving family in an environment that encourages spirituality.

I've been teaching hollistic healing techniques for quite a while now, and methode to enhance your own ability to heal, and develop the ability for yourslef and others.

Don't fool yourselves, this is not a mumbo-jumbo easy-to-power-in-3-simple-steps technique. It works in the fields of personal change and conscious evolution, that will bring your to spiritual state of mind, and the side-effect of which would be healing abilities enhanced, and other nice little tricks...

I especialy love the technique of "Kuji-In".

What is Kuji-in? i have never heard of it.

Finding 'the spot' is certainly a healer's gift.

I think we shouldn't overlook the value of just being there for people too as Fiona mentions. Channeling healing energy is only one kind of healing. I've always thought doctors would get much better recovery rates if they were given enough time to really listen to their patients.

So sorry to hear you lost your dad so young Freebubbles. Sounds like you were a real comfort to him even as a small child.
