People are clueless now about Wiccans.
You can still find today people who think that because McDonald's gives out 'psychic telephone toys' that they are supporting divination, a practice of witchcraft, and hence Satanism. None of it makes any sense since Christianity itself created Satanism, not the Pagans. Wiccan/Pagan mythology predates Catholicism.
And Zoroastrianism is the root of Satanism since it was the first religion to come up with an idea of an all-consuming evil figure - Uhura Mazda and Uhura Negra. Catholicism borrowed from Zoroaster's teachings in many many things, one of them the embodiment of evil in one entity. The Christians called it Satan.
Then, in an effort to discredit the Pagans (Druids, Wiccans, etc.) they used the Kernunnos and Pan figures from Paganism and took the goat feet and beard and said those were Satanic. But the idea of Satan does not come from Paganism at all.
It still astounds me that most those who thump their Bible against Wiccans haven't the least bit of knowledge in history.
