Do you have a superstition you believe in?

http://www.bellaonline.com/subjects/10036.asp

I'm not a superstitious person, but I will admit I get chills if a bird flys into a house or a building... wondering who is going to meet death.

My mom always said sneeze 3x turn in to a man sneeze 3 more change back again!!! i have no idea what thats about but i always sneeze 3 in a roll...i have never turned into a man!!!
I have wondered why a rabbits foot is good luck, oveously it was bad luck for the rabbit or he-she would still have said foot!!!
i have a weird superstistion. if i see a shadow with red glowing eyes i run out of the building or run for my car and drive away... i guess its the feeling i get when or before i see them. CREEPY SCARY!!

I don't know if it means anything, but on three occasions I had gulls circling over my head just before someone close to me died.

It's all weird and silly, isn't it? I mean, we all know this is all 'just superstition' but we still pause and reflect when it happens...
Personally, around gulls, I'd carry a brolly.....

There is a specific song that if heard sung by the original artist, is supposed to mean that someone in the family will die...
I have heard it three times in the past month.
The family is still all alive, well, healthy and kicking.

But I still cannot bring myself to tell you all what it is, and by whom it is sung....

Silly, isn't it....?

Well.....
OK!!

Let's shoot this one down in flames, once and for all, why don't we....?

It's "Lily Marlene" sung by La Dietrich.....

It's haunting, beautiful, and my father told me of its association with familial bereavement, many years ago....
But as far as I am concerned, it's never happened that way when I've heard it....
When you consider how many people must die every second of the day - and how many are also born - it all becomes a bit insignificant, really...

That felt good...Thanks, Patience!!

I'm not a black cat crossing your path kind of superstitious person, but I do admit if things don't work out, I will wonder if I shouldn't have done whatever I was intending to do in the first place. For instance, something as simple as composing an email message and then having it lost because of connection failure or some such when sending will make me more conscious when I recompose. If I lose it again, I will likely not send it at all. If I lose this message when posting... well, you know...

I believe in the ones that make sense like dont walk in under a ladder = some one could drop something on you you could knock someone off the ladder or make it fall. dont put medel in the micro wave= it damages the mircowave and at the very lest makes your food taste funny!!
People die in groups of three in nursing homes and hospitals sometimes four. there is no logic to this one but i did work in homes and they did usualy die in threes and fours...

I can honestly say that I am not a superstitious person. I was a little when I was younger but the things that I was superstitious then don't bother me now. I have also been the type of the person that likes to test the waters so if someone says that by doing "x", "y" can happen.. I am usually the one out there doing "x".

Does anyone out there have OCD? (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)

Is part of the "ritutals" you do to prevent "bad luck"??

I dont have OCD but from what i do know about it some of it is a chemical imbalance and for some its trama related. I had a close friend that had it and she was abused many times and severly too by foster parents and of course her own family after her mother died. she was a neat freak she put everything in its place and bleached everything because she was told that she was filthy... in her mind she thought as long as she was sanatized she was safe... she has worked there issuse and is better but she has to stay on meds to control the chemical imbalence (she was hit in the head with a skillet and almost killed) so im not sure that anyone with clinical OCD would have enought time to be superstitions!!! but someone that calles them self OCD may be...
