Has anybody seen The Da Vinci Code movie? If so, what did you think of it?

I found Da Vinci Code boring. After hearing the book was a page turner, I expected the movie to be filled with action. There weren't many people in the theater on the Friday night of the opening.

I actually enjoyed it. I know alot of people didn't but I thought it was intelligent and filled with action.

Hubby and I went last night and felt it was well done and filled with action, also. I can't believe the time went so quickly for 148 minutes.

Also, I felt the actors played their parts very well and it is worth seeing for the close ups of the artwork in Le Louvre - where I've been but couldn't get so close to the paintings because of barriers and crowds.

So, on several levels I feel it is worth seeing.

I liked the closeups of the artwork, too. I also liked the black-and-white flashbacks of past historical events. I wish they would have been longer.

I totally share your opinion. Flashbacks are used in a great way to exactly express what is meant. Also, the music was impressive.

I liked it well enough, but I probably would have like it more if I hadn't read the novel first. The main draw for me was the art history angle, the rest was just ok.

After reading the Da Vinci Code, I went back and read Brown's Angels and Demons, and while it isn't focused on the Art History as much, it still has some, and to me, the faster paced plot was a lot better.
