I find the stories behind Monte Cristo homestead fascinating (New South Wales, Australia). This is Australia's most haunted building. I haven't visited it (yet), I think I'm too scared to! But the charity ball sounds fun.

The other famous hauntings here in Aus are Melbourne Gaol and the prison ruins at Port Arthur in Tasmania.

Oooh... I finally get to read about the inspiration for American Haunting...

Thanks Danielle!

That story was pretty wild. I wonder why she didn't come back? I wonder who it really was??? Sooo strange!

i guess my favorites would be any haunted castles, ships and nature hauntings like haunted caves mountians and whatever. we have a haunted ranch field close by where i grew up taht no one plows because the machines go hey-wire!! the story goes that the original owners that lived their when bankrupt way back when because the husband was sick and a rich man foreclosed and may have even killed the man in that field!!! anyways the wife killed her self and cured the land. the whole thing was over the water right and after she died the water dryed up!!! the desendents still live there because they cant sell it off. i dont know how true the story is but still...

Probably the old Faust Hotel in New Braunfels TX or the Menger Hotel in San Antonio. Mostly because these are close by and the ghosts are supposedly very active. Though things are always quiet when I stop in.
