Going up and down with your weight can be frustrating and obsession-producing. I say throw out the scale. Like the way you look in the mirror and your clothes and let that be your guide. Has anyone felt obsessed with a scale?

I've never been obsessed with the scale but I went to highschool with a girl who weighed herself every morning. It was part of her ritual. Use to drive me nuts.

I've known women who weigh themselves after every meal, or even a snack. Definitely not a healthy habit IMO.

We don't even own a scale. We had a huge problem when we needed to weigh our luggage for a trip overseas! We had to guess.

I needed my scales when I was loosing weight but now that I am at goal and have got myself a new wardrobe I go by how my clothing fits.I dont want to be dictated to by a number on the scales. Clothing is the best indicator as weight can change if you are doing weights as you gain muscle it can add weight but your meausurments can show a loss - weird but true.

What a healthy group of gals! I agree that clothing is a better indicator. Something about having a scale accessible makes it hard not to step on it, though. That's why I like the throw-it-out idea. However, it would indeed be difficult to weigh your luggage. Good excuse to just buy new clothes once you get there. I am definitely in a wasteful mood, so I'll stop while I'm ahead.

My hubby is the one who is a scale-watcher...As a woman, I've known for years, what I weigh during the first week of the month may not be what I'll weigh by week three...I think we all really know when we're over-doing it, either by maybe hitting the snacks too much, or not getting the exercise we need, to maintain a good weight. We gals don't need a scale, to tell us.

Actually, it's when you attempt to pack and travel home that you really have the problem... luckily that time we were staying with my hubby's folks and just borrowed their scale. But I don't know many hotels that provide scales.

I used to be on my scale EVERY morning. After two months of not loosing one single pound, I stepped off... then I'd say about two months later (for grins) I decided to weigh myself. I'd lost 6 pounds! WOooo Hoooo...

I have a FUNNY scale story. One day I was cleaning my bathroom. Our scale was broken and I thought "why do I even leave it in here???" Well, my hubby was in the back yard and getting a pile ready to go to the dump. So I walked out the back door and tossed, no, actually flung, the scale across the yard and into the pile. My husband and two kids just stood there with their mouths hanging open. Then my husband said to them "well, I guess the scale finally pushed your mom over the edge."

I just brushed off my hands and went back into the house while their imaginations ran wild.

I love that, Deanna. Just toss the thing out the door. I was actually waiting for you to say it accidentally hit your husband in the head, but that would've left an entirely different impression. Good work!
