OK, OK, I'll start - BUT, this is not Chris's Advertising Thread, and I really want you guys to post any listings you have going on. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I just listed several new auctions in my eBay Store - including some new African bone beads and pendants, some really intricately carved Chinese Zodiac bone beads, and some rustic, large clay beads:

I have lots of beads for sale in addition to my hand made jewelry items. You can see them on my website, http://www.perazabeads.com and where I list the majority of my beads - on the newest auction site where you can buy quality hand made glass beads from self-representing artists. Here's a link to one of my auctions there - this is a new type of focal/bail I am making with 3 holes...

I make fused glass beads and sell them...so I will add my link. Sales are via my website and not ebay (too time consuming and $$). Fusing glass is more than a hobby for me, it is my living. I have beads and cabochons and donuts.
(The beads are at the bottom of this lonnnnnnnnnnng one page website). www.designercabs.biz

My son has just started making hemp jewelry and we are having a hard time finding beads for him to work with.

Any advice?

AM,

Is the problem finding beads with holes that are large enough? Often beads made of bone, horn, wood, or ceramic have larger holes. Lots of African beads have relatively large holes, too. I know that some hemp artisans also use a lot of polymer clay cane beads and pendants.

For an example of the beads I used recently in a men's beaded necklace, see this project:

http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art34301.asp

All of the beads I used there have holes that should be large enough for use with most hemp.

The most difficult beads to find with large holes will probably be gemstone beads (especially because the holes are larger on the ends and smaller on the insides) and some glass beads.

I recently reviewed a book called The Bead Directory which might help you guys figure out which beads would work best:

Best of luck!

Chris
