My brakes failed earlier this week, close to Glastonbury, on a trip I made there specifically to get some guidance. Fortunately we stopped safely & got rescued. I've pondered & discussed the meaning & the clearest message seems to be that although a personal situation feels like it is running out of my control I could actually halt any time if I wanted to.
Yesterday I was driving back to Wales from a family visit in England when I sat in a traffic queue & felt gently shunted from behind- a granny in a motorised shopping thing had wedged herself right up my rear bumper. She's lucky I noticed & helped to free her! No harm done. Very surreal & even I am hard pushed to extract a message!
A student arrived today & shared her stressful month- this week her accelerator went on the car.
Are our cars trying to give us messages? Parthena says Louise Hay claims they mirror our lives. What do you think?

I think you could be right! I always seem to have odd incidents on the road when I am experiencing emotional problems.
I think they may be a way that Nature uses to get us to stop, and think!

If these incidents happened to me, I would stop driving unless absolutely necessary, kind of step back and take a look at things, just for a little bit. Think about things and put them in perspective. Have you been doing a lot of extra driving lately. A wave of bad luck or something, might be blowing through your life right now, in regards to the automobile. (I have seen this happen to other people, and they just keep on doing whatever, thereby setting themselves up for worst luck to befall them). We do not want you getting in a car wreck. This might be your angels giving you a heads up. Stop before you hurt yourself or somebody else might not pertain to a relationship situation.

Is it possible for people to experience a LONG run of bad luck? If so, do you have any thoughts on what causes this? Is it to do with life cycles, or the position of planets in your horoscope, or perhaps your own thinking?
Most of the things I've experienced have been unavoidable.
My bad luck began after my mother died in 1992, and since then I've experienced the deaths of four close friends, one relative and had a serious car accident [not my fault] as well as four years of serious illness and now the end of an intimate relationship!!! When does it stop??!!!

Patience, that is a lot for anyone to bear. My last year has been similarly fraught, though thankfully not with deaths. I too feel that 'enough now?' & wonder why I've had to go through quite so much in a short space of time.
Spiritually there are a couple of possible explanations & yes the planets may have had an influence (people are glad to follow astrology in happy times but tend to get a bit disenchanted when we have a rough ride )
There is also the possibility that we are working through a stack of karma, not necessarily from this lifetime. Using the karmic perspective we can at least greet each new trial as another step on lightening our load.
Lastly I think we are put through things to strengthen us. It all feels pretty dreadful at the time, but afterwards we can look back & see that we coped & are stronger. The soul who has an easy float through life doesn't really grow much. (At this rate my soul is 6ft 8")
Firefly, I was driving more as it was the holidays, neither incident was caused by me, but I agree that for someone who is a very confident & safe driver two things in a week is a bit heavy. They were both thankfully harmless & I do believe that there are angels keeping an eye on me- however I'm not going to take risks to test them!

Thanks for that Lauren. It makes a lot of sense.
A psychic I once visited threw up his hands in horror and told me I must have agreed to get through most of my karma in this one life, because he was able to see what my life had been for over 60 years! I didn't take him seriously at the time, but in the light of what you have said, I am wondering if he really DID have a deep insight and that perhaps I have agreed to all this. [I must have been mad!]
I can remember saying to him at the time, that if all the traumas in my life were karmic, then I must have been an absolute ROTTER in my last one! [Maybe I was!]
But gingies, I sure hope things are going to slow down a bit for me now. I'm a 'sensitive Piscean [20th Feb] and at 67 I need a break! [grin!]

I think they may be a way that Nature uses to get us to stop, and think! I agree! I don't know if it is that we use our vehicles as extensions of ourselves, but I would say that the wierdest vehicular episodes came when I have been all churned up inside. One might suggest that I was less observant, more rash or something, but honestly, when I was putting the truck in gear to get some distance between me and my "beloved" (ooooh he irked me something terrible that day!) the whole edge of the road collapsed and left my nose pitched in the deep, deep ditch, hanging on by the rear axle! Just as I was thinking, Ohoh... what am I gonna do now??? a dump truck came along and the driver offered to pull me out with the chain he had attached to his bumper. I was so relieved to be out of that fix, I was a little chastened, and went back home in much better temper! Just a little lesson provided to me by my four wheeled best buddy! Lauren I loved the image of you dragging granny all the way to Wales! I laughed myself silly! (Isn't there a funny story about a "drag race" with a fellow on a motor bike whose suspenders are caught in the car's bumper?) Trishh

Patience you may indeed have agreed to all this between lives. I was told once that we have some lives that are 'working lives' where we do lots of development- these are usually the tough ones with the big challenges. Wow you'll be light as a feather when you go! Seriously though start to ask for joy in your life & take steps towards things that bring you peace, contentment & happiness. We all need balance in our lives & you need to find this inner peace to give you stamina and strength for whatever else you may have boldly agreed to!
I have to admit I laughed like a loony once I'd got over the shock of the Granny incident Maybe I needed that gentle kick up the bum to get on with getting unstuck and sorting my life out? As for your story Trishh how about that for a harmless but clear bit of advice? Lovely that they arranged for a rescuer to come along & pull you out!

At first I laughed and thought the granny message might be "don't be an old woman" but then I thought, hey- that old girl was GOING places! LOL! Never quit- never say die, eh? This is a pretty keen metaphor for keeping on going even when life is tough. And yes, with my vehicle episode, the fates were kinder to me than they needed to be and fished my butt quite literally out of the ditch I was in. I got the message, I got the message! Smiles, Trishh

This is something I have found also. Whenever I get stuck with my car, someone always happens along! One beautiful example I can share with you about such an occasion was some months ago when my car suddenly stopped moving on a very long bridge across water which we have here in Brisbane, Australia. It was a very hot day and I had my three dogs in the car with me.
I phoned for help and soon a police car arrived. I started the car, [which amazingly started up first go] and they escorted me the rest of the way over the bridge, with me at a snail's pace. I got to a clearing, where they left me, and a breakdown truck arrived. He checked everything out, and found nothing wrong! Then, a guy came over to me from a parked car, [my dogs were tied up under the shade of a tree] and told me he had followed me and was going to offer to take me and my dogs home if the car had to be towed.
This example of caring and concern touched me so much that I hugged him!
If only everyone was so thoughtful and kind, what a wonderful world this would be!
