I'm hoping that someone might be able to offer a bit of advice. A coworker's mom has just finished crocheting her a BEAUTIFUL piece, done in all cotton - it's done in mostly single crochet, and the center of it portrays a leaping horse, set in an oval, which is set in a large rectangle. It's about 2 feet by 3 feet, and *heavy*. This is a really nice piece. She wants to frame it behind glass to protect and display it.

Any clues how you would mount this piece so that it would not stretch and droop? Any bits of advice would be very welcome right now! Thanks!

She could try that peel and stick stuff (it's a hard cardboard type thing) that some cross-stitcher's use. You peel the covering off and apply the item to it. I recently framed a small round doiley that I'd made and was able to lay it on a firm piece of felt that I bought at Michael's and then put that in the frame. The cardboard backing of the frame is enough for that but your friend's piece is much bigger so don't know if that would work. I was originally going to tack the doily to the felt backing and then mount that on the peel and stick stuff but didn't need it so gave the peel and stick to my DD. She uses this for cross-stitch all the time and it works beautifully.

She could have it done on stretcher bars, then put into a frame. If there is a local craft store in her area she should go in and ask if they can help her do it herself.

Thanks for the ideas - I'm printing them out right this moment, and will skip down the hall and give them to her!
