Where I live in Southern California we have many haunted houses and even a couple of stretches of road that are supposedly haunted. Many of the local hauntings have to do with building on sacred native american burial grounds. The hauntings along the highway have to do with car accidents, and the person who died wanders the road at night... sometimes appearing to passerbys.

What sort of local hauntings are in your area?

We have the run of the mill stuff here: lots of places in downtown, the lighthouse, certain cemeteries, a haunted hill, and the theater has a resident ghost. I swear one night I believe the old guy followed me home. Think I posted it nearby.

LOL is my house local enough?
It is settling down now but was VERY active when I moved in. When you have a spirit virtually sitting on your lap freezing you as you try to eat your tea you know you've got a bit of a problem...

There are many stories of monks around this area. There was a footpath called the Monks' Trod joining two major monasteries & places along the route are reputedly haunted.

There are stories of a vile lord named Black Vaughan at a close by border town called Kington. He terrorised the locals in life and death. Eventually he was exorcised by being shrunk & contained in a small box that was then cast into a pool. I hope the box hasn't corroded & released him <img src="/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> His great black hound was the spirit behind Sherlock Holmes' 'Hound of the Baskervilles' & we still have an Inn bearing the Baskerville family name. Weeks ay? LOL! Good to hear your lap has warmed... mine is feeling a bit chilled, guess I'll go get my teechino and warm up a bit.

LOL knew I spoke too soon. I was given a chest of drawers by another healer yesterday & moved it up to the spare room I've just decorated. Well the dog spent all afternoon hiding under my bed & barking 'at nothing' & then yesterday evening kept giving funny little growls. I'd had a message to 'clear it' before bringing it in, but thought nothing of it...checked it out & had shipped in an elemental...nothing nasty, more mischievious & it left as soon as it was asked. It felt a bit like asking a naughty child to go back out & play in the sunshine.

So nothing funny here for 14 hours...

HA HA HA... So you're back to "hours." Well, it'll be weeks again before you know it LOL. And the good news is it left rather easily <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
