Does anyone remember the name of a British comedy show that was on a long time ago (like 20 years or more).

It was about a house painter. He worked for a hardline boss who had a lovely daughter. The painter was dating the daughter, but the boss couldn't know because he would only approve of his daughter dating wealthy men.

The intro to the show was him in white going up and throwing red paint on a wall.

Not sure that it's right, but it isn't Brush Strokes is it? Any other clues?
