Druids and Druidry

We are surrounded in the British Isles by the legacy of the druids as you say, especially here in Wales. So many of these ancient sites still have real power attached to them. We may not know exactly how they were used but we can get impressions.

I did a shamanic journey once that took me into a circle of druids performing a rite involving mistletoe. They were very solemn & purposeful- slightly scary in their robes & serious demeanour.

I met some Druids when I was living in the Bay Area and they are often active at the various Pagan Pride gatherings and conventions like PantheaCon. I always think of them as the "white robed guys with wreaths" as that was often how you could spot their group in a crowd.

I've also got a review of THE DRUID HANDBOOK up now. I really liked reading more history and detail about this particular Pagan tradition. I can see why it's growing in popularity in California, Oregon and Washington. We're very tree-oriented in this area.
