Hi, I am a new member who is not terribly well versed in astrology, although I am learning. I recently had birth charts done for my children and something is really puzzling me and I was wondering if anyone knows how common an occurance it is.

I have 2 sons, 15 years apart in age. The oldest passed away and the youngest is now 21. Here is the bizzare thing, for me anyway, I'm sure it could be something that happens frequently but I really need to know if it is.

My oldest son was born on Dec. 11, 1969 and is a Sun in Sag and Moon in Capricorn.

My youngest was born on Oct. 11, 1984 and is Sun in Libra and Moon in Taurus.

BUT..

A very large hunk of their charts is identical. As in this part here: (excluding the degree part)

House positions (Placidus)
Ascendant Leo 19�30'27

5th House Sagittarius 17�51'52

Their ascendant, descendant and all the houses are the same. Am I over-reacting, or is this just plain weird?

Hi OmMom. I do not understand astrology either, but this does seem odd! I hope someone can jump in here with some sort of answer. I have noticed some similarities in the birth dates and times of my first child (girl), and my last child (girl). My first child is deceased, and was born 10 years before my last one. My youngest is now 21! Where did you get the birth charts done? I have had my natal chart done, and I don't know if that is the same thing as a birth chart or not, it sounds like it might be. I wonder, if you had them done at the same time, if there is some chance they accidentally gave you the same info twice? <img src="/images/graemlins/beamedup.gif" alt="" />

a natal chart and a birth chart - as far as I know - ARE the same thing.

As for your children being similar it could just have to do with the part that they are siblings...also, look at the date your eldest son passed on. In some Native American beliefs its common to say that the spirit of the deceased will come back in another. aka reincarnation...man that took me a long round about way to just say that.
Anyways...my mother has ALWAYS said that my grandfather and I should have been twins...even though he died 6 years before I was born. However, the same day he died was right around the time that would have been when I was concieved. Meaning that he passed on in July, and being an April baby I was concieved in July.
Does that make sense? I just worked 10+ hours and I feel like I am talking in circles.

A natal chart is a birth chart, that is to say both are different names for an astrological chart that shows the positions of the planets based on where and when (date, time and lat-long) a person was born.

Sorry to digress from the original question here, but wanted to add my 2 cents worth to say that I have 2 close friends who each had a child die and then conceived a second child afterward. In both cases, the second child was born on his/her deceased sib's birthday. Neither family was trying to get pregnant, so I'd rule out deliberate anniversary matching. Pretty strange if you ask me. I would not be surprised then if the sibs you wrote about earlier shared very similar charts.
