Have you tried Bobbi Browns Eye brightener? It contains Hops Extract to reduce the appearance of dark circles. It comes in 4 shades from light to dark.
Also you can apply some light liquid foundation on the dark areas followed by a concealer that is lighter than your foundation. Blend well.

getting lots of sleep may make it worse, if you have an allergy to dust mite droppings, using fancy creams may make it worse, if you have an allergy to ingredients used in creams, I would suggest to get skin and blood tests for all allergens (skin tests may ignore delayed reactions so dont forget about blood test), i found some great tips at http://www.whydarkcircles.com and http://www.antiallergyproducts.com

I think its always worth a trip to the dermatologist if you have stubborn dark circles. They are professionals and can get your medical information and work on a solution that is right for you. This is a great first step, especially if you have insurance, many times you can see them for a $20 copay or there around.

Dark undereye circles can be caused by lots of different things from heredity to allergies to poor sleep. Aging is the major factor for dark circles. Treatments include eye cream Like Eyevage a professional grade products works well, use sunscreen around the eyes and always wear sunglasses outdoors. For persistent dark circles you must contact to the dermatologist.
