I remember when I first wanted to connect with my angels. I wasn't sure how to do it, and thought I should be able to see them as solidly as a person. I went to this class on how to meet your angel guide. Everyone else seemed so knowledgeable, talking about how they spoke with their angels, and how their angels helped them. We did a meditation to get the name of our angel. We went around the room and people would say things like "ooh, my angel is named Gabrielle," or "my angel is Isabella," etc. Of course everyone had these totally cool angel names. My angels name was Howard. <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> The class facilitator laughed and said "oh, you got the funny one!" LOL.

Now communicating with my angels is much easier because I don't try to be so serious about it <img src="/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" />

What sort of angel experiences have you all had?

Where can you look for classes like the one that you took?

Hi Shari,

I happened to take this class at a local new age shop called Good Scents. The store closed a few years ago, but we still have other shops around. Even our church, a Unity church, offers classes on connecting with angels (and now I get to teach them!) so I think really it may be pretty easy to find the information if you know where to look. I'd try metaphysical stores and metaphysical churches (like Unity, Science of Mind and Unitarian Universalist).

I like the 'unglamorous name' anecdote. I had the same when I first heard the name of my main spirit guide. I saw him in my mind's eye (very Aragorn like!) in celtic dress with sword & shield & asked for his name. The name I got sounded very dull & not even very 'name-like' so I disregarded it. Straight afterwards I opened a book- not one of mine, I was at a friend's house- & there was his name staring out right in front of me- a celtic king- and a legend about him.

I have had what I think must have been an angel experience- although I believe they are around us whether we notice or not. I wrote mine up as the last post on this thread. Angelic encounters You might have some insight into it with your angel work.

I've also had angels intervene in healings. The most memorable was an energetic heart transplant they did for a very clairvoyant client- she saw them take out her old heart & fly the new heart in. I just had to keep my hands very still for them to work through me. That one had amazing benefits & she felt fantastic afterwards!

For me angels are of the spiritual realm but I've had them manifest in human form in dire straits I've gotten myself into over the years.

The angels have been around me especially strongly over the last couple of weeks.

Has anyone had experiences of Archangel Uriel out of interest?

I did have an experience with Archangel Uriel. It was a sort of an initiatory experience I think ::<img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />:: Whatever it was, it was amazing. I've grown quite fond of working with him.

Being from Utah and raised in the Mormon church, (inactive for several yrs now), it is very difficult to find a support group or a live source for help. I would like to know how you find the name of your angel or guide. What are the steps or the process to receive this knowlege? I have always known since I was quite young that there is much more to this world we live in, but have been shunned because of answers that are not able to be given me through the church that I have always known or dealt with. Can you give me some kind of insite or maybe a book or website that can give me some step by step directions on how to proceed? I appreciate the help from anyone out there. Thanks so much.

Your guides & angels will get their names to you if you ask sincerely. There is more than one route to this knowledge.

You might get a message in a dream, or by synchronicity- opening books repeatedly at an angel's name for example.

You can learn to journey shamanically to meet them- that's how I met my Guide face to face. I've also had a second guide make himself known through clairvoyant clients and friends- he gave each of them a little part of the puzzle to tell me & then I had to fit the bits together and check it out.

Relax with it, they will let you know a bit at a time. I've been disovering more about my guides over years- they don't give it to you all at once- it would be too mind-blowing <img src="/images/graemlins/rolling.gif" alt="" />

Thank you so much for your response. Do you have a website or a specific book that may help me to know how to get started? How do I go about asking there name? Is it through meditation? Or what is the shaman way? I apologize, but I am a complete beginner at this? Thanks again for your help.

One more thing...I used to work at a photo restoration facility, I dealt with thousands of photos submitted daily. At about 3 months into the job, I had a customer call and ask about a specific photo. Before he could ask his question, I asked how long this girl had been dead? He was blown away, I guess. He had submitted the photo for one of his customers, they wanted the 'halo' to be removed from around her hairline. He let me know she had been dead for many yrs now. After submitting the photo to my artist 7 times, they would successfully remove the halo but it always came back-this is a digital file, mind you. I don't know what to think of it, except that she is meant to have her halo. This happened to me many times over the next yr. (me knowing a person had died). It got somewhat overwhelming to where I left the company. What are your thoughts on this and should I try to proceed with this more?

There are a couple of good books you could read. I like Ruth White's books. The one I have seems to be out of print, but she has a more recent one called 'Working with Your Spirit Guides' which I would expect to contain good solid advice. Have a look at my article on guides too.
Spirit guides

On the psychic messages, you clearly do have something going on. The photo sounds very interesting! There is a thread over in the paranormal forum about spirits showing on photos- they'd be interested in what you have to say.

Meditation may develop this gift more, if you want it. I would suggest getting acquainted with your guides first.

Put out a clear intention in your mind for a spiritual teacher. Most don't advertise & you'll often find out about them through a series of 'co-incidences'! When you find someone you should find you resonate with them & feel comfortable, if not keep looking.

This is true Lauren. The angels are all around us. I work with them in readings and healing work. It's just the releasing of it all. Once we give them permission, they assist us in our journey.
They've manifested many things for me...especially in a few crises. However, they've done the most beautiful yet also simple things in large packages too.

Yes, I agree. I have just been working this morning with a devout Catholic client who was worrying that when she called on God & the angels she was stopping them from helping someone else. I explained she can call on them as much as she wants, not just in extremis, as they can be with any number of people at the same time.

She was also concerned that she didn't deserve them. I explained that by saying 'I'm not good enough' you shut them out. I called on them for her and they came, which was moving for both of us. I love my line of work <img src="/images/graemlins/heart.gif" alt="" />

Obviously you are understanding of how the Spirit world works.
Her concern should not be of judgement though because we are all here to work out issues in life on earth�lessons. So she should understand that we are one in the same and that simultaneously the Angels are amongst us. They are there for us�and yes, she should understand this so that she is not cut off from her higher good.
We all make error, that�s why we are in this schoolhouse of learning called Earth. This is a part of the divine plan.

(Sorry I got so long winded. I started out with a short explanation, but my computer crashed and so I had to start again).

I have experiences with the Angel of the Lord. I have heard from Him audibly. He speaks to me quite often. People in the general EC Community think I'm nuts! lol <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

One time I was really believing God for another child. I mean. I really was convinced that it was in God's will for me to have a child even though I couldn't concieve another, I believed I was going to see a miracle! I remember one day I put my son on the bus to school and went in to do my daily Bible reading. Not an hour later, the phone rang and it was the school nurse. She said Jimmy was very sick. He had a temp of 104.5 and was throwing up. So my husband and I rushed down to the school and picked him up and were headed to the doctors office. My son was grey! His lips were turning blue and his eyes kept rolling up into his head. I began praying fervently when all of sudden everything went white! The was this loud buzzing and I couldn't see anything. I could still feel my child in my arms. Then I HEARD this booming male voice say, "Would you trade this child for another?" I shouted in the car, "No!" Everything went back to normal and my husband asked me what was the matter. I looked at Jimmy and his face was pink again, his eyes looked clear and he began to sit up again. By the time we got to the doctor and were seen, his temp was back to 98.6 and he was fine. It was as though he had never been sick at all! I will never forget this time when the Lord intervened and showed me what His will really was for my life. he told me then and there that he had given me the children in my life and that they were enough for me. This was His plan. I could alter it but I would have to sacrifice what He had already designed in order to have it. Now, I just pray for grandchildren... <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have memory of seeing him in front of me. I was 4, he was talking to me "Come, lets go play outside" and i would fall asleep and fly out the window with him.

When i told my story to my father, he asked me:
- What's the name of the angel you saw?
- Melchitzedek, i said
- What? Where did you hear that name?
- He told me, dad!, as i replied wondering what was his exclamation.
- That's the name of an important king in the bible, some sort of ancient fellow who started a priesthood.

That's it, you have my story.

I always find it interesting when people talk about these experiences.

I had been grieving hard over losing two of my pets within days of each other from a sudden illness. I was walking into my bedroom the day after and suddenly blinded by white light/stars. I saw my pets sitting together when it cleared. One of them said, "I love you, momma" then took off in flight. I started sobbing and trying to pull him back I have loved him so much and missed him, but he soared off into the light. I swear I could feel feet on my shoulders and weight pressing down and a beak in my hair while everything whited out again as he flew off. As abruptly as it happened it was over. I saw a psychic friend of mine a few days later (for something else) and she commented about a new spirit guide sitting on my shoulder! She started talking to it and told me that the male would come back into my life again in a new body and the female had chosen to stay as my guide. It was rather shocking since I hadn't told her about my pets. (Of course it was difficult for her since I occasionally have odd names for my pets. In this case it was Tardy ... it took her a few moments until she understood the name and floored me by telling it to me.)

I can't say I actively 'hear' or 'see' anyone (let alone my loved ones that are gone), but I'd like to think some of my 'pet intuition' or knack for handling some animal situations is due to Tardy's influence.

I suppose since I have such a connection to animals it's only logical mine manifest in those forms. Given my sense of humor it also suits me rather well to have a duck as a spirit guide <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

When my older daughter was just 4 or so, we started going to a small church a short bus ride and walk from our home. The first Sunday she came with me, she gasped when she saw the Our Lady of Fatima church along the way that had a nice mosaic of The Lady over the door. "It's Mary!" Trista said with wonder and surprise as if totally blown away to see an old friend in an unexpected place. "Oh?" I said as casually as I could, "How do you know Mary?" Now you've got to know we are Presbyterians, so outside of Christmas, hardly anyone ever speaks of Mary let alone sees her. "Oh she comes and sits on my bed all the time" my daughter replied. Now I was the one blown away as we continued down the road to our new little church. Ever after, I have to say Hi to Mary for Tris whenever I see her, and I say thanks for taking the time to visit a little kid.

Oh My Gosh! What an amazing experience! Your dad must have been absolutely gobsmacked! Do you still have these experiences??

Well those last few posts have just had my scalp tingling away! The world is just so much more amazing & magical than convention wisdom would have us believe. The story about your pets was beautiful & consoling, as for a small child hearing Melchidezek... Lovely to think that Mary is still doing her work & not just an abstract concept.

The angels are really just waiting for a call. I needed to send an angel to a friend for support the other day & Archangel Raphael was there almost before the thought had formed in my head.

Lauren, thanks for those comforting words. I didn't know angels worked that way. If anyone needs an angel protector and friend today it's got to be my husband. He started work on Thursday after a long period of being out of work and yesterday had a terrible accident in the company vehicle. He is going to be ok, but his heart is so hurt as this is just the latest in a long string of manly frustrations.
How did you know it was Raphael who answered? Any help will be so appreciated.

Oh Trishh so sorry to hear the bad news. Something is telling him to change path do you think? Is he physically injured?

The angels can respond to our requests for others- although they can only help as far as the other person lets them in- remember free will- we can't interfere where we aren't wanted. As far as why I knew it was Raphael...I just got the name and a picture straight away in my head.
