Here's a article from Daily India about vacation journalling: http://www.dailyindia.com/show/4510.php

Do any of you journal about your vacations? I start off with good intentions as it starts but as the vacation moves on, especially if it's longer than a week, it becomes sporadic or I'm just too tired.

I do keep a book in the car and one in my bag as well as one in my camera bag. It's just a matter of pulling everything together afterwards.

What kinds of things do you collect for your journal when you're travelling? I collect receipts from restaurants, sometimes placemats. If there's a mini brochure or business card I like to grab those to. I actually prefer a business card because it takes up less space but still looks nice.

Moe! You're doing Journals! Woohoo! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

(I'm doing Jewelry Making, so I know what you're up to <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />)

The idea of a vacation journal has always kind of scared me, because I'm always afraid I won't have time to devote to it, because vacations are so short.

But I love the idea of using it to collect recipes and brochures and things. That way, you don't have to feel guilty about not constantly writing in it, but you always have it handy for when things do pop into your mind.

I supposed you could also use it to keep track of the photos you're taking along the way, and whatever is in your mind as you take each photo.

I'm going to try this on our next vacation, which hopefully will be this summer or fall. <img src="/images/graemlins/fish.gif" alt="" />

I ALWAYS start out with good intentions, and end up forgetting to journal. I do collect things though, I like matchbooks a lot.

Hey Guys...........lily here from the Polish Culture web page.............

Last year - we went six weeks to Poland and two to Naples Amalfi Coast area..........we took a small hand held tape recorder - the kind you would use for lecture class with small tapes.........WOW, DID WE EVER USE THIS - WAS SO MUCH EASIER - and I got good at putting down only the really interesting and important things..............then when I got home - I replayed and was so much easier than carrying the journal around - although I must admit - I did some writing or speaking on the tape recorder back at the hotel at the end of the day............using the tapes again this summer as we are headed to Alaska..........Princess Cruise, in fact, looking for some advice for day trips in major cities - in case you know anyone who could help.....please have them email me at

God Bless

Wow, I love the the tape idea! I'm definitely going to have to try that. I have one that sits in my desk so it would be great for that. And the dollar store here sells like 4 taps for a buck. Thanks for the idea!
