I want to share an important peice of guidance I got with you. Thank goodness I was listening- it really may have saved my son's life. Last week he had to go into hospital for a minor operation under general anaesthetic. In the weeks preceding it I was constantly thinking about his weight- he's a string bean of a boy. By the day of the op. I had 'watch his weight' going on in my mind over & over.
On admission one nurse took details from me & another took my eight year old off to be weighed. She came back & reported he was 54 kg to the other nurse who was about to write it down. I don't do metric weights & can't convert, but having listened to these messages I asked "what's that in real money?" The nurse stopped for a moment & said- oh that's over 7 stones. Well my lad is I guess between 3 & 4 stone.
The nurse who'd weighed him looked a bit put out that I'd questioned her, but I accompanied her back to the scales this time & sure enough they said 54kg. I said that's ridiculous & she took us to a second set of scales- this time accurate- 24kg. As they calculate the anaesthetic on weight he would have potentially been given more than double the correct dose. I like to think someone would have questioned the weight- but neither of the nurses, both of whom work on a children's ward had picked up on it.
Thanks to the very good surgical team my boy has made a fantastic recovery & is ready to go back to school tomorrow. Big thanks to my guides for going on & on about weight like that, I'd flounder without you guys

That is truly frightening! I know down here at the children's hospitals they tell the nurses not to convert weights for us parents. So here in the US it is a good idea for parents to know their child's weght in lbs and in metric.
It sounds like in Europe you need to know it in metric and stones (what type of measure is that, anyway?)
But almost everything medical is done in metric.
I am soooooo glad you were on top of things Lauren, whether it was your guides or your own accute sense of perception! You quite literally stopped a tragedy from happening.

I am using the poll icon because of the Red Light (you stopped them) and the Check Mark (and made them check the weight again). That story has given me goose bumps on my arms and legs.

Lauren! I am so glad to hear that you caught that and made them double check. What a strong message about listening to your intuition.

OMG Lauren! So glad to hear everything turned out alright.
I have a funny story about NOT listening to my intuition. Last summer we were puppy hunting. I saw an australian shepherd I really liked, and she was about a year old. My hubby wanted a younger puppy though. So that afternoon I took my kids to a local animal shelter. I had a strong feeling that I shouldn't, but I did anyway. The kids found a puppy. We took her home. She ended up having parvovirus. Then of course there was that whole "puppy" thing of needing to be potty trained, and she is still chewing toys and paper plates to bits.
My intuition said to get that australian shepherd, instead we got a dog that ended up causing us quite a bit of trouble for a good four or five months.
Then things calmed down and we did a ceremony to welcome the puppy, who wasn't actually meant to be here, into our home.
Things are good now, but WOW, what a rough couple of months.

Thanks everyone, for me it confirms that we are being looked after if we just quiet our minds enough to listen- whether the words came from guides or my own intuition they were there & loud enough to really grab my attention.
Michelle we tend to measure weight in stones & pounds here still. It is part of the rather archaic Imperial scheme we had before metric, some parts of it die hard & I'm rather fond of Imperial weights & measures. There are 14 pounds to a stone. I still do petrol in gallons rather than litres, journeys in miles rather than kilometres and milk in pints
Deanna, that is a funny one. I've done lots of things like that- got the feeling & gone against it for 'sensible' reasons- only to regret it. Part of being human I guess & the lessons we are here for. Hope your furniture has still got legs. My dog ate the spindle on the banisters & tore up the whole landing carpet as a pup- bless.

Glad to say my son is completely recovered & went back to school last week. He does have a happy knack of bouncing back to full health & he is now pinging off the walls like normal
