This is in reference to Dove's forums on body image and self-esteem.
They just implemented a selective posting process which goes against the entire concept of the public internet bulletin board. BBSs exist to serve special interest groups-to provide information, advice or opinions and allow those who wish to visit to have discussions concerning a particular topic- regardless whether the site owners, administrators or moderators agree with the content or not. As long as the content of a post is not obscene, vulgar or harmful to any individual or organization, then people have a right to submit it and you have an obligation to post it.
Dove's moderators are apparently reviewing every post which is submitted, and if it doesn't support, compliment or applaud their campaigns, then they won't allow it to be seen. That is wrong. They should allow all opinions to be heard. This is a form of censorship and they should seriously think about discontinuing it. It's deceiving and it's giving the impression that the entire public supports their cause and campaigns. It's just a matter of time when other manufacturers of similar products catch wind of this and they'll be receiving media attention they probably won't like.
