I don't even have a land line anymore. It's an unnecessary expense, since I have DSL and a cell phone. So that is a LOT of money saved and nothing spent on long distance (I have a GREAT cell plan with lots of minutes). I would never go back to computer dial up or a land line.

Also, I don't have to answer my cell when it rings. That's what voice mail is for. So people know I don;t answer it much and that takes care of the "always being accessible problem"...because, quite simply, I am not. This way my technology works for me and I am not a slave to it <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I stopped answering my phone as well. It got to be a point where everyone just wanted instant access to me. Can you take me to this place? Can you pick me up here? Can you do this? Can you do that?

But then, I have a few who, when they can't reach me, will call my cell, then my home phone, then my parent's phone and then my grandmother's phone, then they'll start the cycle all over again when they don't reach me. So I'm getting repeated calls from the same people within a five minute time frame.

What's really annoying is that it usually isn't anything important, but they usually want me to do something that they won't do for themselves.
