Just because a baby is born into a poor family doesn't mean they should have their right to bear children removed, that's social engineering and extremely distasteful. I have to agree with texasdave on this one, everyone has a right to have a child. If they turn out to be bad parents then obviously the state can intervene, but at least give people a chance!

We're not talking about poor people. We're talking about abusive parents, crackheads, people who don't teach their kids to be productive members of society, people with horrendous genetic diseases who insist on having kids anyway, people who are mentally barely more than children themselves, etc. Give them a chance? Why, so the kid can have at least a few years of a hellish life?? And that's assuming CPS *does* intervene?

Sorry, I don't think someone has a "right" to make a life choice for someone else that might make that person's life hell. Regardless of whether it could be abused by the state--which, y'all are right, it could--it's still not right that these people are allowed to create more human beings to be miserable.

There are many I'd like to see not have children... that's for sure. I don't think my own birthmother was the best... but if she would have been excluded I wouldn't have my siblings. We went through Hell and back with her, but I still have my siblings ;0)

I absolutely hate how some in the homosexual community use the term "breeders" to refer to hetrosexuals. A very good (very gay!) friend of mine uses it, and he's already heard my opinion of it, and my brother used it to me.... once!

Any term that is used to describe another group in a derogatory manner is totally unacceptable.

I think that it's sad that so many homosexuals (both men and women) have become so bitter - and that bitterness is partially due to how society treats them. Funnily enough, it's more "acceptable" to be male gay, than female gay (or at least that's how I see it), but until Gay couples have the same rights as het couples, then that bitterness isn't going to go away.

To those who are bitter about anything, I offer my Grandfather's words of wisdom: "Be better than those about you. Don't drop to their level by name calling. Your class will show by the way you treat others"

I personally have yet to use the word "breeder" and doubt highly someone could bring me to that point. That said, I do see where a someone who is being verbally attacked for being gay might slip and say it and, though I disagree with playing into the verbal games, I wouldn't judge them for doing it either. I know it takes a lot of effort for me at times to bite my tongue when people get mouthy about my lifestyle.
