I could not look at your new article but wanted to leave a few of my ideas about doing God's work. There are so many opportunities for us to be charitable each and every day, without spending any money, so that young people and all those without resources can also partcipate. It is as simple as sharing what boy and girl scouts learn about helping people. Carrying groceries, raking leaves, telling stories, emptying trash, listening to stories, sharing time, helping them across the street, into their cars, etc.
Being charitable to our elders is a major concern since they have been so important in our history and caregiving. Children, another major concern, are small and helpless and need every adult around to watch over them at parks, grocery stores, malls and make sure they are safe. Young people face the biggest challenges with drugs, sex, grades, peers and planning their future. I just saw an ad on TV that the United Way uses the money that it receives from charitable donations to help in these areas, for people who want to help but might not have enough time or inclination to work with these groups. I love to work with high school teens and talk to them about things in their world and how education will help them. I also love to spend time with alot of elders at church to share my youth with them and help whenever I can.
By the way, it was SO QUICK getting onto the site today compared to all last week so the new server MUST be much better. I guess getting the links corrected will take a little more time. It's going to be SO NICE!!! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
