I got such a blessing this morning at our Christmas service, that I just had to write and tell y'all about it!
Normally I sing in the choir, my husband either sits in the congregation or helps in the nursery, and our youngest is in the nursery. (Michael has moved out to live with his dad; and Jordan, our 8 year old daughter is visiting with her dad this year for Christmas, so wasn't here for this - but she's normally in children's church.) But today was a family service with only the guys on guitar playing and no nursery, so David, Seth (3) and I all got to sit together.
The children's choir sang "Silent Night" and "Away in a Manger" and then the congregation sang Christmas carols and praise songs before our pastor preached.
The last song we sang was "Agnus Dei" (In case some of you are unfamiliar - I'll post it on the Christian Music site).
Seth had been a little rambuntious so I had picked him up by this point and was holiding him while we sang this. He started singing along with me! He only caught every other word, and he was about a half beat behind (because he was repeating me) but it was the most *soul-warming* thing to have my baby singing "hallelujah" with me on Christmas morning. If I could have had Michael and Jordan there in the church with me right then it would have been the most perfect moment in my life.
My entire family around me singing praises to God on Jesus' birthday. Could there be a more perfect Christmas?
If I could choose- that would be the moment I would want the Lord to come back and take us all home to Him, together.
