I am sorry I missed that show. Maybe they will show it again and then we can discuss it in our astronomy club meeting. The lambing bit makes sense also. Who knows what happened back then? It could have been a comet that has long since disappeared, or a supernova. Several years ago we went to Colorado, and on the winter solstice the moon was at perigee (The point in its monthly rotation when it is closest to Earth), and had not been this close to the Earth in 130 years! It was huge and the reflection off the snow made it light as day (almost). It was amazing to see. I read Fiona's post and it reminded me of my experience. Sounds like she had a great solstice.
