My husband and I just experienced a miscarriage last week. This was our first pregnancy and we were so excited. About 2 weeks ago I had to go to the ER for light spotting, but the ultrasound showed everything was fine. I went to see my ob/gyn the next day and the ultrasound was fine, but there was no heartbeat. He advised us that the pregnancy may not be viable, but it was still too early to tell. At the point the fetus was showing 5 weeks gestation and I should have been about 7 weeks. We went on Wednesday and the sac was there, but the fetus was gone! The hardest part for me is trying to figure out when the baby expelled itself or exactly what happened. I opted to have the D&C on Friday to just get it over with. Everyone has been really supportive and my husband has been my rock. I don't know how long it will take me to really get over this, but I hope it's soon. My prayers and heart goes out to all the women who have experienced this tremendous loss.
