Leah, I'd like to ask a few water-based questions. first, I like the way I feel and look after spending time in the steam room at the gym. do you know why steam is so beneficial? and should I drink water afterwards to avoid dehydration. I also like to put my face over a little steam in the morning, this also makes my skin feel more alive and emollient. Lastly, how much water do you recommend drinking each day?

2 litres daily for an adult.

Thanks, but are you kidding. That's a lot of water and I drink about .25 of that presently. I'm gonna give it a shot however, and I'll let you know how I feel.

No I'm not joking its true.. You should increase you daily water intake or you can add to your diet following:
fruit juice, milk, soup etc....

Hey Teezone, those are great questions about water!

Your body ranges from about 60 t0 70% water so you can see why it's so vital to you. Water is a major factor necessary for your cells to operate in a healthy fashion. Most of us don't intake nearly as much water as our bodies really need. This is why things like steam rooms and hydrotherapies feel so nourishing. Your body is getting the moisture that it desperately needs.

On average, I would suggest drinking what equals to half our your body weight in ounces. So if you weight 130 pds, half of that is 65. This would mean that you should drink at least 65 ounces of water a day. This is the standard recommendation seen in many places and what I like to follow myself.
