I was on another BD message board and there was a post about a girl wanted to create a stage name and asked for help. I saw some websites that listed the different names you could use. That's where I got the name Lalita. But that's only because my middle name is Lolita and I felt that it was close enough and very pretty.

Anyway, my question is. Is it common to use another name for your "stage name"? Do you guys use your real name or do you have a stage name?

Thanks! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

We just talked about this in class! I'm thinking of just using Parthena. It's related to the Greek goddess Athena, but was my Cherokee great-great grandma's name, which is why I took it for my pen name.

I'd love to hear more names!

Lovely names you've all picked! Aurora is actually where I live, but my first name was taken already on this system. I might use something similar for a pro name, though we've not seriously discussed that yet. I'm new to my troupe, though the troupe has been going for 3 or 4 years now.

Hi guys,

I have posted a page about this on my website with some links to websites if you want to search for a name.

Check it out at:

I came across this site: http://www.bellydancingworld.info/bellydancename.php but it doesn't tell you what the names mean which is a shame cause I wouldnt want to pick a name not knowing what it meant

Maybe I'll use the name I've got on this forum:), I eventually found a name that wasnt already taken.
