Are they aware of how babies are made? And if not, have they at least stopped to consider that each kid has come out months after having sex? After sixteen kids, the pattern should be really apparent, right?

But having so many kids is part of the problem.

What concerns me about this woman having 16 children is the immense strain it's put on her body. My mom knew a woman who had 16 children and the woman died before she reached age 50.

Right. Even one pregnancy can strain a woman's body.

Ugh! I would want to die just to get away from all those kids!! J/K....sort of...

Our mother planet has so many people to support with her resources already.We live upon her like parasites. Why 16?? I can't understand this kind of insanity. I don't think I want to either.

well I don't know if it has been mentioned or not, but maybe they are LDS (Mormons)--which if that is the case they believe they MUST reproduce because angelic spirits must all come down from heaven and experience human life on earth--so they believe they are doing the cosmos a favor and fulfilling their human destiny. (this is no judgement on their beliefs--merely and explanation as they see it.)I am not sure if other christian sects might think this way also.
